THE ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN OF HOTEL TERRESTRE OAXACA

Set between the mountains and the Pacific coast of Oaxaca, Hotel Terrestre offers a distinctive perspective on contemporary Mexican architecture. Designed by Alberto Kalach and Taller de Arquitectura X (TAX), the hotel draws on the raw beauty of its surroundings through sculptural forms, exposed materials, and a restrained, earthy palette.
Brick, concrete, wood, and clay shape the spaces, while natural light and open-air transitions connect the architecture with its surrounding landscape.
Together with our visit to Casa Wabi, our stay offered an opportunity to reflect on the relationship between art, architecture, nature, and creative expression.
