Designed for INK + PORCELAIN’s collection of Artful Objects Designed by Women, this handbuilt ceramic vase is a study in form, texture, and quiet strength. Its dramatic fluted curves and wide silhouette evoke both movement and stillness—striking from every angle. Finished in a deep matte black, the surface reveals the subtle marks of the maker’s hand, celebrating the beauty of process and imperfection. A bold yet versatile piece, it brings architectural elegance to any interior, whether styled with stems or standing solo.

Cour Studio is the ceramic practice of artist Courtney Defeo-Gertler. The name "Cour" is a playful nod to Courtney’s own, embodying the joy, curiosity, and sense of experimentation that defines her work. Drawing from her background in soft goods design and a Master’s in Industrial Design from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, Courtney brings a thoughtful yet spontaneous approach to form and material. Every piece is hand-built, celebrating the tactile process of making—where movement, texture, and even the artist’s fingerprints are intentionally preserved, honoring the intimate connection between maker and medium.
