1. What started it all for you?

I was studying to be a psychologist and my parents encouraged me to do something creative on the side. I started making clothing and selling them to boutiques across Australia. Long story short - I closed that business after a few years because it was simply too capital intensive but I was completely in love with a career in the creative field and decided to drop out of my honors in psychology. I met with a bunch of people in spatial design - interior designers, decorators, property stylists, event stylists and merchandisers. I decided that creating spaces for people to live in married my interest in psychology with my passion for design and so I went back to school to study interiors. I graduated in 2015 and moved to NY with my husband a few weeks later where I began freelancing almost immediately. The rest is history.

2. What drives your creative spark?

It's a combination of things. I have a genuine love of creating so that always drives me. I love love to look back - vintage furniture and modernist architecture excite me and spark my imagination. The other side is the more human side which is helping people elevate the spaces they live in and getting to understand people and their own personal likes and dislikes interests and intrigues me.

3. Most treasured home decor item?

This is always a tough question for me. I am a maximalist so I have loads of things. There is a tiny piece of vintage art I have that I just love and treasure. I have no idea the painter but its perfect.

4. What’s the best advice you've ever received?

If you are looking at a scheme and it doesn't feel right try taking one thing away at a time until it feels good. There is a Coco Chanel quote which speaks to this which is "before you leave the house, look in the mirror and take at least one thing off".

5. It's 5 o'clock at home. What would you be pouring?

A cold glass of Rosé from Provence!
